» ROAD NOTES: Charley's, Farmville, VA

This gig is always a blast. The Farmvillians have been amazing supporters of Carbon Leaf for years. The ride there was relatively event-free. Since it's only about an hour away, it's one of those trips where it's too short to sleep but too long to sit there and do nothing. I did both. Junction opened the show. These guys just get better and better. They sounded great. Check them out if you get a chance. They'll be playing with us at Friday Cheers in August. We took the stage about 11 and played to 1:30 or so. As always, the crowd was awesome. The show went well and everyone was happy. A couple people reported spotting Chelsea Clinton somewhere in the crowd, but I'm not sure this rumor was substantiated. Carter swears he's never met her. The ride home was...dark. We stopped at our usual crap stop - I had ice cream. Barry bought some fuses but said they didn't taste that good. So off we went. I had a hard time sleeping because I was so excited to get up for work in 3 hours. We made it home ok, and another Charley's show was in da bag.
